To those who study socialism in Latin America and in the world, it is constantly questioned what made the Revolution triumph in Cuba and what conditions keep it alive 60 years later, under the ideology of imperialism against its system and such a harsh blockade. This article aims to analyze the Cuban revolutionary process based on its his- torical background and the social, political, and economic changes that occurred on the island with the Triumph of the Revolution. The metho - dology used was a critical review of the literature, together with the application of interviews with residents, community leaders and specialists from Havana. This article is a development of the author’s master’s thesis.
